Redfish

Redfish are caught year around in Naples and Marco Island.  We catch many reds along mangrove shorelines and oyster beds at high tide and along shallow edges and deeper troughs at low tide.  They are also targeted by sight fishing at low tide as they cruise and feed on shallow flats and channel edges.

Reds take a variety of baits as well as jigs, plugs and flies.  Redfish are often found in large schools, especially during the fall months.  Average redfish in our area run 23 to 26 inches, however it is not uncommon to find fish approaching 35 to 40 inches in the fall months.
